What is the Quiet Farewell?
The Quiet Farewell is a complete, attended funeral service at Taunton Crematorium, designed for families who want a genuine, heartfelt farewell without the cost or complexity of a larger ceremony. It has been put together thoughtfully, so that every detail is taken care of, and nothing essential is left out.
For £1,890, the package includes:
- Our professional services and guidance throughout
- Collection and care of the person who has died (within 25 miles of Tiverton)
- Placement of the coffin in the chapel prior to the funeral
- A simple wood-finish or natural Jute coffin
- A 20-minute attended service at Taunton Crematorium (for up to 20 people, at 9am or 9.30am)
- A Memorial and Tribute website, with online donation collection for a chosen charity
- Online bereavement support, available when you need it most
Who is it for?
Some people, quite simply, don’t want a large ceremony. Maybe your loved one said so themselves. Maybe the family is small or spread far apart. Maybe the thought of organising an elaborate funeral feels overwhelming at a time that is already so difficult.
The Quiet Farewell is for those families. It offers a real, attended service – not an unattended cremation – so that those who matter most can gather together, say what needs to be said, and take their leave in peace. It’s a funeral that is modest in scale, but not in care.
What can be added?
The package is designed to stand on its own, but a few additions are available if you’d like them.
A minister or celebrant can be arranged for an additional £260 which is ideal if you’d like a short reading, a prayer, or someone to speak a few words on behalf of the family.
Flowers, printed service sheets and newspaper notices are not included in the package price, but we are happy to advise and arrange these for you if you wish.
